WordPress has set the standard for integrated WSYWIG (what you see is what you get) editors for small businesses. To be fair, some medium and larger sized businesses have scaled pretty significantly using WordPress too.
However there is a sweet spot with WordPress that can’t be ignored. Beyond the easy editing for novice “webmasters”, WordPress is extensible. As in really extensible.
So many plugins have come along that make a WordPress site of today well beyond the geeky “blogger” platform of the past.
Starting off with a WordPress Basic hosting plan is a great way to get going with a world class website without the need for all the “tech” help.
Later you can always expand to a virtual private server.
Of course, Pros will quickly value the more expansive options.
